| updates.well, i've started a new job. i still work at childrens, but less often. i'm now also working at rice child and family center as well. it's a pretty nice job, the only bad part is it's far away (in Evanston). Yes, i am not one for commuting.
Anyway, due to school, working at children's, and working at rice, i am working 6-7 days a week. I feel like my schedule has gone crazy! In addition, I have my master's project to finish. Moving on, since this portion of the blog is stressing me out...
Soooo, working at Rice is pretty cool. I see patients for individual therapy, but also spend most of my time in the health clinic seeing kids for episodic complaints and taking care of their health needs. Today, I had the difficult assignment of playing with a Wii fit and figuring out a "Wii exercise protocol" for the kids! holllaaa!!! Actually, I ran out of time today, therefore Wii play time will continue on monday. I wish I got that assignment daily! Anyhow, that is about all that's going on with me. Perhaps more to come soon...? yes. i hope so.

| I just got really upset about puppies. You know how everyone says don't get your puppy from a pet shop/breeder, get your puppy from an adoption place...etc. What about the puppies in the pet shop? They are just as much puppies as the other puppies in the shelter!!! So now I feel bad for all those cute puppies sitting in the pet shop in those little cages with big price tags, while I got my dog at a shelter with super nice accommodations. I mean, if no one bought from pet shops then all the pups there would just sit, and their cages are too small. Anyway, it is really upsetting me because I feel there is no good solution.

| How far away is next year?We choked again. 2nd year in a row. Unbelievable. When I lived in San Diego, I went to my share of padres-cubs games. There's one game in particular that sticks out in my mind (maybe because I met and canoodled with matt murton? ...). We were behind petco park by the trolley station waiting for tall red-heads to emerge...ok, I was, I won't drag anyone else into this. Anyway, there was a family walking by. A dad, a mom, and a boy, he was probably 6 or 7. He said, "Dad, do you remember when the cubs won the world series?" ..the dad said "Nope, I wasn't even alive." the son said "Will they win the world series this year?" ..the dad said, "It doesn't look like they will, son." the son said "When WILL they win the world series then?" the dad said "Well, there's always next year" ... the son said "Dad..... will you be alive when next year comes?" the dad said "Probably not." the son paused and said "I don't think I will be either." That conversation made me so sad. Did any of you see Chasing October? People don't believe it will happen, so it won't? I wonder how much truth there is to that. Anyway, I decided to rename the chicago cubs. They are now the Chicago LOBs. Ha ha ha.... please laugh at my joke. I've told several people and no one seems to think it's funny. Come on! I'm clever, right? | | |
| I just went on a long run so my endorphins are going-- I have refused to talk about the cubs with many of you, mostly because I was in a pretty depressed and pissy mood the past few days. Well, with the happy drug of exercise running through my system, I will discuss shortly my thoughts.
1. Please people. Ryan Dempster is an amazing pitcher. Look what CC Sabathia did. Great pitchers make mistakes.
2. I know, I know, the whole curse idea is silly. But why is it that every time the cubs get in the playoffs as of late, they become mistake ridden, defensively blunder-ful, offensively silent underdogs? why!!!!
3. Um not to toot my own horn, but Cubs fans are an inspiring bunch. With all the stuff that happens to the Cubs, the ups and downs, the 100 years and no world series victory, we stick behind our team. When they say "Chicago cubs have the greatest fans" - it's the truth. really.
4. I know there's one more game. I'm really hoping we win this... even if we don't win the series. To be swept again would be overly depressing.
So there you have it, my thoughts. Don't be surprised or offended if you IM me about the games and I yell at you or tell you I don't want to talk about it. It's what I have to do to avoid a repeat of the mopey, depressing past two days.
In other news, how about that debate? Man, nuc-u-lear. It gets 'em every time...
